Spring is here! Spring clean up is upon us and sports are in full swing. Your preparing for school to soon be out. Your enjoying your back yards, gardening, and the warmth of the sun. You can smell the burgers on the grill, hear children's laughter at the playgrounds. You are planning your hiking, picnics, fishing, and camping trips. You can also hear the faint buzzing sound of the deadliest, and most annoying, insect as it comes in for a landing. Your checking your beloved animals and children for those pesky tiny ticks hoping a red ring doesn't appear in the days to come. American Mosquito Control Association, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, VBD Corp, and Hanson BOH invite you to attend our PREVENTION forum on Mosquitos and Ticks May 1, 2013.
The winter, recent rainfall, and combination of storms could lead to yet another banner year for mosquitoes. Ticks are already a problem. The weather and unnecessary breeding grounds will have a impact both on the amounts of mosquitoes and how soon they become a problem. The needs to be prepared to meet the threat so that it doesn't get out of hand.
Public action is important! We urge the general populace to come learn " safe mosquito control " done at home and about the differences in habitats, vaccinations and or repellents for livestock, pesticides/repellents for people, contraptions that give false sense of security and the multiple diseases ticks and mosquitoes transmitt. You the general populace can make a difference.
We hope you will join us at the prevention forum and we hope there won't be a need for panic like last year. Help us help you come out and join us May 1st.
