Water Superintendent

The Town of Hanson Water Department is accepting letters of interest and resumes for the position of a full time Water Superintendent, working under the administrative direction of the Board of Water Commissioners, in conformance with all federal, state, and local regulatory laws, rules, and e-regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree in engineering or related field and/or considerable experience in Municipal water in a progressively responsible capacity, including at least five years of Supervisory experience.  Requirements at a minimum, possession of a

Grade 2   Treatment and a Grade 2 Distribution Massachusetts Drinking Water Supply Operators License, both of which shall be kept current.  The successful candidate shall possess strong management skills, leadership, training and communications skills, and have the ability to interact positively with the Board of Water Commissioners, the public, and other Town officials.   Computer skills and SCADA system knowledge is also required.

The Superintendent will manage the Town's water system; supervise and manage staff; assign duties and ensure performance; manage the water department budget and be responsible for implementing and adhering to all policies and standards; plan and manage operational and capital improvements; ensure Drinking water regulatory compliance; operate and maintain wells and pump stations, corrosion control facilities; and cross connection programs; evaluate and make recommendations regarding upgrades, improvement, operation adjustments, staffing, etc.
