It is with great regret that we have made the decision to cancel the 2^nd Annual Spelling Bee scheduled to be held January 23rd. This decision was made due to lack of a sufficient number of pre-registered teams to make this a fun and successful event.

As you are no doubt aware, the Town of Hanson is having a Special Town Meeting on January 25th and many of last year's participants are deeply involved in preparing for that meeting. In addition, the District recently completed a Department of Elementary and Secondary Education comprehensive District Review which has subsumed much of the District staff's time as of late.  We believe that this series of events happening in such close proximity to our event has put an additional strain on our supporters and resulted in fewer pre-registered teams.

We want to assure you that we truly appreciate your commitment to this endeavor. There will be additional opportunities to support the continued growth and success of our organization in the future and we earnestly hope that you will consider being a part of those events.
