All Whitman-Hanson schools will be OPEN and operating on a normal schedule for Wednesday October 31, 2012.
Power has been restored to all school buildings, and all safety systems have been confirmed operational. Local officials have no concerns regarding buses traveling on roads, or at school bus stops.
Some of our community residents and District staff members may still be without power, and may not receive this telephone call unless they have registered cell phones on file. If you know of someone who may not have power, please pass this notice on to them.

W/H Schools Cancelled for Oct 30, 2012
Due to the impact of Hurricane Sandy on our communities all Whitman-Hanson Schools, grades PK-12 are cancelled for tomorrow, Tuesday October 30, 2012. This includes all day and evening classes and after school programs.
Local officials would like to remind the community to please treat all downed power lines as live. Local utility companies are estimating power to be restored between 72hours and 5 days. The High School, Whitman Middle, Indian Head and Maquan School currently do not have power.
Additional information will be posted on our web site (www.whrsd.org), and recorded on our storm line at 781-618-7495 as needed.
Food Pantry Closed on Tuesday 10/30/12
The Hanson Food Pantry will be closed on Tuesday, October 30th. It will reopen on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Food Pantry is located at the Hanson American Legion on Robinson Street.

The event is open to the residents of Kingston and the surrounding communities such as Bridgewater, Duxbury, Middleboro, Pembroke, Plymouth or any other community. If you live anywhere close to the station it is a perfect time to get rid of that "stuff "in your garage or basement!The MBTA encourages people to dispose of everything from refrigerators to lawnmowers in a responsible way, therefore, every item will eventually be dismantled and have zero landfill impact. Hanson Fire Department Open House
Good Evening,
The Hanson Fire Department, located at 505 Liberty Street, will be holding it's annual open house for fire prevention week this Saturday, October 6th from 12PM-4PM.
There will be games with prizes, tower truck rides, hose targets for kids to knock down, firefighting gear for kids to try on, fire apparatus on display and demonstrations of the equipment used by your firefighters.
There will be food available for purchase including hot dogs and hamburgers with proceeds benefiting the Hanson Food Pantry. The Hanson Food Pantry will be on site to accept non-perishable food donations.
