Public Forum March 16th

On March 16th, 2011 the Hanson Community Preservation Committee will be holding its annual public Open Forum Meeting from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm at Hanson Town Hall. Committee members will be on hand to discuss the Community Preservation Act (CPA) and to review the deadlines and application process for the upcoming grant cycle.   Potential grant applicants and the general public are encouraged to attend. This forum is a great opportunity to learn about CPA and the many ways it can be used to improve our town.  The forum is also a meant to be a platform for providing feedback/suggestions to the Committee for future projects. Do you have a group of people you really like to hang out with? Why not form a team and enter The Whitman-Hanson Education Foundation's Spelling Bee? On March 31st, 2011 from 6:30-9 PM the Whitman-Hanson Education Foundation will bee holding its first annual Adult Spelling Bee in the Whitman-Hanson Regional High School's Performing Arts Center. Businesses, PTOs, neighborhood and community groups, town and public safety organizations, are all encouraged to form teams of three to eight Spellers. Not comfortable getting in front of an audience and spelling? Not everyone on the team needs to bee a Speller.....you can designate one or more members of the team to spell and the other team members can help the Spellers and cheer them on!! Teams are encouraged to wear costumes and really get into the spirit!!! The entry fee for each team is $150 and is tax-deductible. Proceeds will fund grants in all of the Whitman Hanson schools for grades pre-K through High School.
